Worlds of DC boss James Gunn has confirmed that he and his co-boss Peter Safran are indeed planning a large shared universe of DC projects.
The DCU is going through a transition phase after guardians of the galaxy director Gunn has been hired as the new co-president and co-CEO of DC Studios alongside The Suicide Squad Saffron producer.
Now Gunn has explicitly confirmed that he and Safran are working on a shared universe for the DCU that will include movies, TV shows, and animated projects.

One fan tweeted Gunn, “Are you and your partner planning to give more TV shows about DC characters that will add to the DCEU story?”
Gunn replied, “Yes, most definitely the DCU will be connected through film and television (and animation).”
It comes after Gunn previously said he and Safran are working on an “8-10 year plan” for the DCU that encompasses a variety of film, TV and animated projects.

“We’ve spent the last two days with a group of some of the best thinkers in the business, with the best writers in the business starting to map out this 8-10 year plan of what it’s going to look like in theater, in La television, in animation, on every level for these characters,” Gunn said.

Gunn officially started the role earlier this month, although his current goal is to complete Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which will be released next year. During this time, the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special just came across Disney+.
Gunn said that Guardians 3 will likely be his last MCU movie as he embarks on an intense new journey in this DC role.

The Suicide Squad is out now DVD and Blu-Ray. Peacemaker season 1 is streaming HBO Max in the United States and broadcast on Sky and NOW in the UK.
